Learning to See (Self Portrait with Vintage Kodak Brownie)by EchoNorth
Meditation on the profound impact consumer-grade cameras had on the masses of people who could suddenly capture their lives on film. I took a great history class on popular culture in Canada a few years back, and this lecture always stuck with me. Our notions of time have never been the same!
The camera in this image was a gift from my mother-and there is even still film in it! Tried to capture the kind of light Jan Vermeer painted in his jewel-like images centuries ago in the upper floor of his studio in Delft.
janene…if it were possible, you could do an SP with a cricket bat, and it would Still look gorgeous, never mind any sort of camera!! Whats with the wistful look? Are you trying to work out where the USB port is…….? lol
