We had the most incredible frosty morning here in the foothills of southern Alberta. Naturally, we had to spend a few hours driving the backroads and trying to capture the delicate beauty of this winter day before it melted. While I also took some quality shots of old buildings and horses, this image of a mule deer in the woods has to be my pick of the day- something about these wide-eyed creatures is so spellbinding, especially when the trees are gilded with frosty lace. I just love the muted, cowichan-sweater colours of winter in the trees.
