Incoming over the Canola
This is a shot at the edge of my Grandfather`s farmyard; some ominous storm clouds coming in over his canola field…tweaked the image in photoshop to adjust contrast in the clouds. Just like when i was a little kid, standing at the edge of the farmyard was like standing at the edge of the world; a good way to feel insignificant and even vulnerable in the face of the wide world!

Love the low horizon which opens up that massive impressive sky. I like the way that the farm building just leans into the shot and the yellow crops lead you in hand in hand from the otherside.

Thanks so much, Stuart, the prairies and a wide angle lens are a potent mixture, i also thought this one had a nice flow!

Thanks Steve, sure i’ll share- for this type of shot i use my Sigma 10-20 extreme wide angle (in my case for Canon EF mount, but i think they make it for Nikon as well…) its a great lens, especially for skyscapes.
