Old Timers - Frank (Through my eyes)
My entry for the 2009 Canon Photo5 Portraiture category as well as another addiiton to my Old Timers series:
I used the supplied glasses as a gateway to the life of Frank.
Frank is one of the last traditional barbers and has been grooming mens hair for 55 years. He grew up in Greece where his father had a barber shop. During WWII his father was unfortunately killed in an accident and his uncle took over the barber shop. Frank would help out by delivering messages after school.
One day they were quite busy and his Principal needed a haircut urgently. Since he was the only one free the task was left to him. Given the opportunity he rose to the challenge and after a long two and a half hours, the job was completed. His Principal said it was perfect and liked it so much he recommended him to others.
He opened his own salon in Northcote, Victoria in 1975 and has been happily serving customers ever since with a smile time and time again.
Shot using available light which came through a door to his right.
I hope you enjoy it, good luck everyone :)
