Disturbing and stimulates so many questions for me… have you put this experience into words, like in a story or essay? I’ve read a lot of stories where being mute or feeling voiceless is a theme and it interests me. Would love to read it if you have.

Haven’t written anything about it, Alison. I am a woman of (sometimes) too many words, but w/my photography I enjoy being able to leave the words out. It was something I created to address myself and my background. I had thought up something a little simpler and it sat in my head for a while, then it kind of took itself over and became what it is today. I’ll think about commenting on it in the description in the future…do you think it needs that?

Yes, I find this disturbing too…but it’s meant to be and you’ve portrayed that so very well – especially with the empty gaze. It scares me to think what you might have gone through. I hope it helps your healing..really fascinating work :)

I can be that way sometimes – sometimes too much thinking and noise around the world so I stop talking but just feeling what’s inside of me, the voice from the heart – all mixed voices from loneliness, selfish, love, hurt, fear, power, passion… oh I wanted to say that the image is just wonderful!

Powerful picture. I know you would rather not explain, still I am very curious. A haunting image of a doll like person unable to speak, tucked away somewhere, perhaps waiting to be born, frozen somewhere in space, yet connected very much to earth. Silent but it cries out.

Kerry – this is haunting and sinister – I think the beauty of the woman coupled with the tapped mouth and the expressionless almost dead-looking eyes – very moving and sad.

An incredibly powerful & thought provoking image. The raw pain & struggle is palpable, something many of us can identify with, whatever our gender.

Sometimes we all feel trapped. Inside the words race through our minds but never excape our tongues. Untill the moment passes. Claustrophobia of the soul lashes out at men as it does women…. We are all inside from time to time…

I always try to refrain from commenting on my images for the same reason. The best art can have 5 different people look at it and they will have 5 different interpretations!
