I LOVE red roses. What more is there to say? Acrylic on canvas.
Thank you for the feature in “Paintings from Beginners”

Beautiful work! I like your use of shadows and the bold colors.
Thank you Eryn, I have to learn how to take the photos now, there’s too much reflection off the canvas. I’ll keep trying and hopefully replace this image with a better one.Thank you for the encouragement.

Wow! You really know how to paint flowers. I have the same problem taking photos of my oil paintings…the shine. That’s why I havent posted complete images of them. I just scanned portions. If you figure out how to take a photo without the shine let me know.Meanwhile what you have posted is wonderful! I’m glad you found me so that I could find you. I love your paintings!
A lovely red rose! Maybe you could try placing the canvas in good natural light (not in sunlight), placing your camera on a tripod and photographing it without the flash. That could reduce the reflection off the canvas.
Thanks Rosanne and for that suggestion. I think it has to do with the mediums I use in my painting too. When I can borrow a camera, I’ve got a stack of shots to take and re – take. :)
Beautiful work.. stunning red rose. I agree with what redrosedigital said re- mounting your work on a tripod and not using flash.
Thanks Di. I dream of getting my own camera and learning some techniques. (I’ve got to find a job first:( ) Next time I can borrow a camera I’ll retake a few and find some natural light. Thanks
