As she lies dormant in the yard, this huge engine fills the mind with images of sweat and toil on the railroads of yesteryear

I rather like the air-brush quality you bring to this shot. The seat looks wrong however as it looks in good condition! Not a tear! Mainly though, the thing that doesn’t work for me is the lack of a central point of view. Too much detail and the eye darts all over the place looking to rest. That huge W243 grabs attention for nothing as does that engine. I can’t work out the light direction either and that makes it difficult to create mood. Perhaps if you blurred the exterior (shallow DOP)
the eye would linger and devour all the interior detail the better. You haven’t decided what you are photgraphing here, and that’s the real problem.

a heavy and dark subject – captured in an open and airy fashion. lots of light for us to see the detail. i’m quite haoppy that my eye doesn’t really rest on one single point..
