its hand made.. it was sewn for the model. i design clothes as well…a litle known fact as most of our models are “nude”...lol!!!!—chappel

i use a multi layering when i desgin. (in the 90’s i worked for a clothing designer whos work was based on muti fabrics.”patchwork concept”), although this is not that. old habits die hard. i layer like mad using multiple fabrics.

thank you.. thinking i am emptying my wardrobe out of props fabric and parts of dresses… it came out good! a little sewing and a few other things. and it pulled together!—chappel

a little tid bit then.over the years. i have collected so many things.but and this is the big one. i do it all on a very very tight budget. (like i think in total these two out fits and hair pieces were 25.00 us dollars.). i have an old sewing machine, that lives on the fritz, so i hand sew alot of the time. and have to iron or tape hems, all the shoes i buy for the shoot as model specific(so tag is always on the bottom of the shoe or i tape the bottoms of the shoes so i can return them (this way i can get the items i really want for the shoots with out cost being an issue).. but i return all of them after unless the model wants to purchase them(yes they do, as well as makeup, and other things from the shoots)
but again with the shoot above. those were all pieces and parts, in my wardrobe for shoots i took apart and put back together. i go to any store. salvation army,the junk yard, the trash company,used stores, ..and most importantly always pic up a good deal. after the holidays they always have stuff 75% to 90% off. so i go in and purchase cart loads..e can tell you from our run to walmart at 2 in the morning., i collect and collect. then i make something out of it.if you look close you can see i have used yards of the same fabric in other shoots, i take apart those outfits and reuse the fabric. here in particular the grey fabric is the same as in the “pride” series.i will add a pic in a min to show you

thank you. my mum was the same. in fact i do not think i wore a dress that was not sewn by a family member till i was 8 or so.i was a tom boy in printed flowery dresses form my mother and other female relatives (like 20 others) as i was the only child who’s mother would let her wear them,my mother and all the woman all had machines.. its funny now all have stopped but my mom who makes anything she can with what ever she can, in more of an Americana way than i. but she is still going on it, in fact she hand sews barbie clothes for my daughter!
than you for saying i inspire you, as all of rb and ones in particular have an effect in my mind.. that gets stuck until i shoot it.
i either see if i can do the same, or i do it in the way i want to… it as been a wonderful journey for me on rb. i hope for you as well.
