Artist's Description

The random pattern of contrails from a missile ‘droan’ that was released from White Sands New Mexico. A tracking missile is sent up to track and destroy the droan, causing the exploded center of the image. The colors are caused by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere separating the light in to its primary colors like a prism. Taken around 4:30 a.m. from White Mountain Lakes Arizona.
