Babbling Brook / Rocky Mountain National Park

Just off the path to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park was a large stream that was shadowed by mountains. A set of small waterfalls with the sound of the trees swaying in wind made the setting for this shot. Thanks for looking.

Excellent colour and composition – I like the fact that it looks just a little tilted, it makes me feel that I was there (and I would find it very hard to stay perfectly upright on that terrain!)

  • dzf1z1 replied

Themis – Thank you for the nice comments. The tilt is an optical illusion, I leveled my tripod first because I considered making this a panoramic at the time. However, the illusion is still there. Do you think it would be a better picture if I corrected the illusion? I’ll play with it and see what I think. If you return and the illusion is gone, it’s because I updated it. Thank you for your comments. They are always appreciated.

I agree. I removed the tilt and re-posted the picture. Much better now. Perhaps the tripod shifted before I took the picture. As I recall, I did take this picture with a great variance between the leg lengths. I am not sure. However, I have corrected. Thank you for your comments.

:-) Would you be really mad at me if I say I liked the other one more? This is great too, don’t get me wrong, it’s just that the other one gave me the feeling of ‘being there’. I think you should post both side by side and ask for more opinions.
