modern grief is rubbish

i wanted to use knifecrime as a verb, because it’s always on the news, so i did.

modern grief is rubbish belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, The Word Tree, This is England, United Kingdom and West Midlands UK

If I get knifecrimed,
Think only this of me:
I dont want a Facebook group
Set up in my memory.

Send all your platitudes,
empty or otherwise,
to me in a letter,
while I am still alive,
So I can reflect contentedly,
On how you’ll always remember me,
and how fully I have lived my life to date,
etc. etc.

And If I get credit crunched to death,
dont send your love to my family by SMS,
come to the funeral,
for some old fashioned grief.
And as they lower my body
Into a very real grave,
Say a little goodbye
in your best black suit and tie.

Knifecrimed is the best verb I’ve seen today.
This made me chuckle and grin. And nod a bit.

i agree with beast i love the contrast between death and the comic look at facebook groups n stuff..totally agree..all the new technology meant for communication just makes us more distant from one another than ever ironically
