Thank you all so much!
May, 2006 Location: Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee
*Beale Street is a street in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, which runs from the Mississippi River to East Street, a distance of approximately 1.8 miles (2.9 km). It is a significant location in history and the history of the blues. Today, the blues clubs and restaurants that line Beale Street are major tourist attractions in Memphis. Festivals and outdoor concerts periodically bring large crowds to the street and its surrounding areas. *

We took visiting relatives on a tour of Memphis and they wanted to see Beale Street. Since no cars are allowed on the mainly “pedestrian” streets of Beale (as indicated by the barricades that can be seen in the background of this shot) it was rather amusing to us that these signs were posted on every street light pole along the way. My Father, the one who noticed the contradiction, lagged behind the group only to be captured “breaking the law” by not only standing, but “leaning” against the pole. He was lucky he didn’t get a tow or a ticket. LOL!
