A shot taken from the hip in Amsterdam that’s a bit soft but the image’s intent outweighs it’s technical quality. Grained up in B&W conversion and burned the edges to provide more intimacy in this composition.
Street photography is liberating in a sense. It enables non-writers, like myself, to document a story.
Here’s the story …..
The lad in the middle, wearing the apron, is a waiter at Pompadour restaurant, and he’s on a break. The other lad and the girl are friends of the Pompadour waiter. These two are not boyfriend/girlfriend otherwise they’d be standing close together on one side of the waiter. They’re possibly married because they’re standing far enough apart! The two have patronized Pompadour close to closing time to meet their waiter friend. The Dutch love to socialize and as the one lad holds his glass and the girl smokes a cigarette, the three are discussing their party plans when the waiter gets off from work.
I don’t know this threesome; I never stopped to talk to them nor did I eavesdrop.
Every picture tells a story ….

Thank you, Amanda. When I’m out trying my hand at street photography, it invariably becomes a study in human behaviour. Fascinating we all are …
