Bougainvillea flower

Having a play with Nikon D80 and Sigma 17-70 lens. Bougainvillea flower is the small white flower, the red/purple are bracts. Flowers are very small and pure white in comparison to bracts. Wanted to show the contrast between the strong, bright colours.
F8, 1/40, ISO 400, FL 70, on tripod.

Such a striking colour…. and they are little flowers within flowers. Lovely!

Well the white flowers are in fact the flowers. My first real experiments with closeups.

these are such great flowers,,, so showy,,,,, Jamaica has walls of these growing everywhere,,,,,,,somuch nicer than concrete!!
    nice to meet you…..

Hi Linda, you are right about being nicer than concrete. Even in Andamooka and Roxby Downs, these reigned supreme, always giving us a brilliant display. They are tough survivors; bit like me sometimes!
