Faith Knows

This is the first piece of poetry I’ve written in the last fifteen or so years, if memory serves. Still needs a bit of work to tweak the language, I reckon, so I dare say this will change over the next few weeks. But it’s a start. If not a very cheerful one!

Shrouded in cotton wool layers
Of depression and wine in equal measure
Cocooned in solitude
Love’s butterfly
Dreams of flying.
Faith knows.

Still think “cocooned in solitude” is a tautology. That’s gonna change soon.

A glimmer of what’s beneath? I don’t think – Cocooned in solitude- is tautology at all (maybe cocooned BY solitude) but it’s being picky….use your poetic license…leave it. Really lovely Duro…poignant.
