    Oh Wow!!!
wonderful detail of something I love to look at.
We would call it a dragonfly here in California. I once bought a car because it was dragonfly blue!

    Graeme Pettit ...

Hail oh kindred spirit from the rock in the Solent. Leicester calling.
Ive enjoyed your portfolio, gone through your journal, and finally settled here, to enjoy the delights of one of my own favourite subjects – the humble, yet beautiful damsel.

You’ve made a cracking job of this one, and I must admit to liking quite a few others – yet – wheres the train in your favourite station? Wheres the photos of IOW steam railways? And you say you have a mental block and a lack of subject matter? You are surrounded by sea, have three prisons with stark walls and fences, miles of beaches, great wildlife, more than your fair share of sun in 2007, ferries, harbours, and good friends. If the other half walks off – take her piccy. If you want a competition with yer mate – count the grains of sand – or at least enjoy a beer and laugh whilst Ian tries….......

Good rants friend, I know where you are coming from. Photted every bug which has showed itself in the garden, every bird, even the damned clouds…I gotta get away for a while!

Good luck with the competition, but you are doing OK with the kit you have, you really dont need an SLR – Ive seen what you do with computers – would it be safe?

Nice stuff on flikr too – better set of butterflies around you than we have here – wild and farmed!

Keep it coming, I’m enjoying following, as you seem to be experiencing the same woes as I – and I no longer feel as bad as I did, nor as lonely!

    LOL, best wishes
    Graeme.

Thanks everyone, for your kind comments! It’s always a pleasant surprise to switch on in the morning and find people have written nice things!
Thanks to you Graeme – glad you’ve enjoyed looking at my stuff. I confess I haven’t yet been down to the steam railway. Despite having lived on the Island for the last three and a bit years, there’s still so much to see (and photograph!)
