Wow.. Im heading there soon, looks like you can get nice and close! Unlike Taronga, never even see the big guy out there..
The Orangutan enclosure at Melbourne is excellent and you will see them generally without fail. It is harder to see the male (Santan) but lately he has been sitting up there. Their enclosure is ‘shared’ rotation with the Siamangs who are also very entertaining anyway.
It can get pretty dark sometimes in there though and you will get the glare of the window on sunny days, so depends on the light :)
