wow this is lovely much better that the PS black and white…its got atmosphere….. lovely work…

  • Thanks Juilee. You might be right, but I felt that I wanted something less literal. Actually, I was just trying a bit of sharpening using an unsharp mask, then got carried away! I’ll maybe play with it a bit more and see what comes out.

Have to agree with Juilee. This one pulls you into it more.

  • Thanks for the feedback, blackjack. Sometimes it’s I can’t see the wood for the trees … or something.

This is a very nice shot! My only critique would be the glare you got from the sun washes out part of the picture. Unless that is what you were aiming for, then I’d say great job!

  • Thanks for the comment Eric – and for the honesty (it’s quite refreshing to see an honest critical comment on RB!) The glare certainly wasn’t intentional, but with no viewfinder on the pinhole camera, what you get can be quite a lottery.

Well, I was going tto shoot my piano… May be not now, after your photo…

  • Andromedae, thanks for the compliment therein, but I INSIST that you shoot your piano. Try not to hit the piano player though ;-)

I love the feel of this… you can almost smell an antique piano just looking at the photo

  • Thanks Janina, but I wouldn’t breathe too deeply – this one’s a bit mouldy. Badly needs some TLC!

This is stunning! I love the feel of this photo. Nice job.

  • Audrey, you are too kind :) This was such a casual snap (if you can call a 30 min exposure casual!), and with no viewfinder on the pinhole camera, it’s a wonder the composition was OK. I’m going to try another one soon, which I hope will be much better.
