One of the first results from the 35mm pinhole cam Mk2. I’ve seen this type of image before, taken with ordinary cameras, and wondered what result I’d get with a pinhole. The camera was carefully wedged between dash and windscreen for the journey.

Overall, I think I’m less happy with this camera than the Mk1 (used for most of my other pinhole images here), so have resurrected that one for the time being.

Details:

27 mm focal length
f/140 approx
10 min approx
colour neg film
no photoshop, except black/white points

The Camera:

Yes, there is a hole in that metal plate!

love your title – so apt. Love the colours and the RUSH of the image

  • Thanks Gaylene. It’s more vibrant than I’d expected, considering the tiny aperture the light had to squeeze through!

    great abstract

  • Thanks Zaldy. It’s interesting how much jiggling there is in the light trails.

how did you keep the shutter open?

  • I removed the shutter assembly (fun!) and just used the sliding lens cover – as you see in the pics above. I kept the motor wind-on intact, so the camera otherwise works as normal.

Beautiful, I find night pinholes the most challenging- still working on it.
