As sands sang on.

Behind gray walls

How sun beamed

Very nice crepuscular rays :)
I read that you are a specialist of the sky phenomenas ,is it true that when we have those rays«pieds de vents» in french ,it’s gone be windy the day after..?My mother who was living near the sea realy beleive that.It’s a beautiful shot.
Thanks micmac. Sorry, I can’t give a definitive answer to that, although I doubt it’s the case the two phenomena are connected. You just need sunlight shining through gaps in the cloud, with either haze or dust in the atmosphere to show up the rays, and I wouldn’t say either is particularly a predictor for wind.
I’m surprised that the rays are pieds de vents, when the English name is derived from the French crepuscule! Wind feet doesn’t sound so good.
I saw a brilliant display recently, which stretched all the way from one horizon to the other. Anticrepuscular arys aren’t uncommon, but I’ve never seen them stretch across the whole sky so strongly. Didn’t have a camera handy :(

It looks pretty dramatic, but I love the atmosphere! I’ve only seemed this kind of dramatic skies over mountain once with my own eyes, several years ago in Switzerland. It was truly stunning view and your capture reminds me of that :)
