This was a thunderstorm that passed slowly, over the space of a couple of hours. As it went, it drifted out to sea. This was to be the last exposure, as the rain started to fall. I’d captured nothing close, and thought I’d drive away with nothing…

    Wow! Only just got my first images up… Thanks for comments folks :-) I’d have stayed a lot longer for this one, but we had an elderly visitor with us, and she needed to head for home. Might never get another one like it!

    Thanks Michael. I prefer it to the colour original, although that’s interesting as well; the BW just seems more powerful.

    Actually, it’s not BW. I used a subtle duotone effect, with warm highlights and cold shadow tones (a nod towards the original).
