lovely work as always Duncan :) great effect and love the images of your camera also :)

  • Many thanks Pamela. I might not be finished with this image yet; as I was adding it to the group, I wondered if I should tone it. Maybe later.

Hey Duncan, I would love you add a forum entry regarding this camera along with the images on the right. Adding how it actually works. Is the only light let in through the pin hole? Is the rest of the “lens” opaque? I would be fascintated as I am sure others would be to know how you work it. It would be quite interesting, if you would like to add it. Do you know that damn camera is actually older than me! And I am no spring chicken anymore!

  • I could do that, but not this week (shouldn’t even be here doing this just now). Yep, one little 0.2mm hole is all you need – no AF, no IS, no USM, no ED, … As for age, it is quite a young camera (my EF is a real youngster, by comparison) ;-)

This is brilliant, I love the softness that the pinhole offers, and the shapes created by the seat and shadow are fantastic

  • Thanks again Trish. Much of the softness here comes from the Orton Effect; before that, it seemed a bit too hard – which is strange for a pinhole pic. I love shadows; driving up the coast on Monday, I kept wanting to stop and get out with the camera to capture shadow effects from the setting sun, but the family wouldn’t have been too impressed!

    Irresistible to the eyes!

  • Thanks Richard. When I saw these shadows one afternoon, I thought I had to go back to shoot them, but it took me ages. Glad you like it.
