This was my daughter swimming in a friend’s pool. I watched her glide effortlessly below the surface, then grabbed the camera and had her repeat it a few times so that I could get a decent shot.

The gentle surface ripples created interesting distortions, to give this a slightly surreal quality.

Taken with Canon A460. The original was somewhat desaturated and affected by reflected blue sky light, so colour adjustments made to deepen the water tone and return the skin tones to a more natural colour.

    Camera details please!

  • It’s odd – I was going to put it in the Compact group, then unchecked that box (or so I thought) as I was in a hurry and wanted to do it later instead.

  • Thanks Richard; dreamy was certainly one word that went through my mind as I was editing this.
