As an Australian I have no way in comprehending what the envioment is like in the Scottish Highlands, but I do know that I am drawn towards that part of the world by some invisible force. Scottish Highlands, Fjordland in Norway and Iceland all have this amazing breath to it and you have captured it perfectly. The house on the sice of the Loch there looks like the house of my dreams, to live out the rest of my days as a reclusive author (which is my ultimate secret desire.)

  • Thanks ein22. The light on those few days was just magic. It’s the best place in the world when the weather is good!

This shot looks so natural, casual almost ,but i think it’s very evocative and just as I remember it.

  • Thanks Vicky. Casual it wouldn’t have been – as I remember, the midges were fierce that day, and I certainly didn’t have the luxury of a relaxed and considered approach! Do you recognise the spot? It’s unlike me to forget.

It’s very intriguing to see still waters beside turbulent land. This is a beautiful photo, a very serene place.

  • still waters beside turbulent land … that would make a good title for this pic. Very poetic :) It certainly was serene (apart from the bitey things); there is a magic in the highlands, and this almost conveys it.

I love it up there, and this shot captures one aspect of why, the remoteness – Think I’ll have to arrange a trip next spring before the man-eaters come out. – dave
