Lovely mood captured here Duncan.
littlejohn
Lovely tonal range. I like the subject and the movement implied by the birds.
Duncan Waldron
Thanks :-) I was after just enough movement in the wings. I like the single bird on the right – seemed to be a loner (or not hungry).
micmac
The best compositiion of all and an untouched photo, beautiful scenery.
Duncan Waldron
Thanks again micmac – you’ve been busy today ;-) And you’re right – it is untouched apart from slight brightness/contrast adjustment & dust retouching.
I have printed this on several occasions, and each time, have chosen a slightly different composition, but this is the most recent ‘incarnation’.
Trinx
I really like the mood and comp here, beautiful atmosphere.
Duncan Waldron replied

she looks lonely, but then she does have pigeons to play with, nice atmosphere
David Reid
Nice shot, lovely atmsphere. Is this recent? I haven’t ever seen the place so quiet!
Duncan Waldron replied
Thanks David. This was about 1978/9, just before Christmas.

Holly Ringland
this is so atmospheric and moody… absolutely stunning, i love it… it reminds me of a character from pl travers’ mary poppins novels, a poor woman who relentlessly sold seed to the rich so she could feed the birds… and to know it’s in glasgow is icing on the cake :) congratulations on the home page feature.
Duncan Waldron replied
Hi Holly, thanks for that exuberant comment :) Are you a Glaswegian?
richardj
great shot… there’s a pigeon-feeder in every town!

I love the way the foreground has been highlighted from the background due to the fog.
Francesca Rizzo

S.E. Douglas
This is just perfect. I love everything about it, even though it makes me feel a little homesick too.
Duncan Waldron replied
Thanks Sal, and sorry – don’t want to make anyone sick!

This has a timeless quality about it. It could be the 1940s or it could be yesterday…except it wasn’t frosty and the wind would have bowled her across the park.
Duncan Waldron replied
Thanks again Vicky. I so rarely photograph people, and am always pleasantly taken aback when folk enthuse about this one … but it’s nice :)
Scott d'Almeida
fantastic

She’s very brave, wearing a dark coloured coat with all those feathered bombers in the vicinity.
