St Margaret's Loch

Duncan Waldron

St Margaret's Loch

St Margaret’s Loch is within the Royal Park in Edinburgh, a stone’s throw from the Palace of Holyroodhouse – the Royal Residence in Scotland. This near-Christmas scene shows the swans oblivious to the frantic festive retail activities taking place just a mile or two away from here, in the bustling city centre.

Overlooking the loch is the 11th-century structure of St Anthony’s chapel – at least, what remains of it.

Well, Duncan, I came to check out if I missed anything in your profile, and this is what I found! Extremely picturesque scene, is the sand white, or is that snow at the edge near the water?

Never mind, I saw your tags right after I clicked “Add Comment”. Snow makes it even better (I’ve always loved snow!).

  • Duncan Waldron replied

Snow can be nice in photos, but it doesn’t always make the rest of life too enjoyable (unless there’s heaps of it, and you’re a skier). I don’t miss the stuff very much!
