Artist's Description

Caught and taken today (4rth Feb, 2012) within the fish markets of Brunei Darussalam ~ the ‘Abode of Peace’ ~ within what might be called the “Heart of Borneo”.

No-one should be under any ‘disillusion’ here ~ a clutch of baby Guitar Sharks fresh from the womb of a large ~ 4.5 metre ‘Guitar Shark’ ~ sit on their ‘own yolk’ ~ still sustained by their placentas and nutrients.

The ‘artistic impression’ given is that of ‘a bar of Gold’ representing the ‘precious wealth asset’ that is lost by this mismanagement and malpractice.

A total of 20 juveniles counted ~ these SHARKS are SITTING ON THEIR ‘OWN’ GOLDEN EGG ~ a ‘sustained’ WEALTH which would provide an ‘economy’ for Generations to come if nurtured and protected ~ through both fisheries (food chain balance, provisions of food and in turn revenue) and Diver Tourism (Customers paying ‘handsomely’ for the viewing pleasure of ‘live’ Sharks in the Sea).

The short term hit of ‘Brunei dollars’ ~ is no match for the ‘BULLION’ equivalent ‘wealth revenue’ and heritage ~ which could be kept within the surrounding Ocean.

These Sharks are worth MORE than their ‘weight in Gold’ to our childen and childrens’ ~ children… a legacy which the WORLD ‘should’ leave behind.

ALL proceeds generated from this image supports BORNEO SHARKARMA.
