My appreciation for beauty has grown over the days and nights of a life well lived. What I assumed was beautiful in my youth is now perceived as only a budding sprout of the real beauty I was unable to comprehend as a child myself.
Much the same as a beautiful woman takes years to create and mold ,a flower takes many years to finally produce its true beauty. A beauty that is more than just skin deep. A beauty that encompasses the total sum of a life of knowledge that only time can produce.
This incredible beauty is growing in a little meadow at an elevation of 9000 ft in the heart of the High Sierras. It is common to be buried under 20 feet of snow in the winter and to have “spring” in the month of August. But still ,it has learned to survive ,(and yes thrive),in these harsh conditions. A life that is more than skin deep.A life that has learned to adapt to its environment and still to have a beauty that can bring a tear to the eye…
I have learned to appreciate the fact that beauty is so much deeper than how a flower wears a dress. The flower is indeed marvelous but the true beauty is what brought it to this point in time..
