There’s something about bald eagles. Even if they weren’t the United States’ national bird… or symbolic of our nation… I still think we would be inspired by just the sight of these birds. They are powerful birds. Even injured bald eagles embody a sense of pride, vision, power, and a feeling of perserverence. I find it amazing how emotional I can get just by seeing these birds at a zoo. This one in particular had a damaged wing, yet he still amazed me with his beauty and majesty.

excellent shot, these are such cool birds

  • Thank you Kathy! I was so glad to have gotten some good shots of them yesterday. When I went to the Sanford Zoo on Friday they had their bald eagles tucked away and it was nearly impossible to get a shot of them. The Brevard Zoo (where this one was) was much more photographer-friendly lol… but they still had a large area for them.

astounding beauty… immediately holds such a special feeling.. your words are so true, victoria..amazing shot!!!!

  • I’m so glad others understand what I was trying to say. Thanks so much Isa! I have another shot of this guy that shows his damaged wing better. Been debating about putting it up. It’s a sad situation for the bird, but he doesn’t look any less regal. It really makes one think there’s hope for our country after all. We might be banged up a bit, but we’ll bounce back. lol Leave it to me to get that feeling from a bird and not a politician haha.

You have absolutely captured the captivating beauty of this magnificent bird Torrie…………..
He is looking SO proud & regal……………………..
I LOVE this work so very much Hon………………..

  • Oh Rosie!! You have made my day! Thank you sooo very much for the fave and the beautiful comment. When I first saw this after I dumped the pictures onto my computer I fell in love with it. I had no idea it would have looked this good. Dustin just sat there quiet, so I figured he didn’t like it but he was just speechless. I’ve actually got him going around with my old point-and-shoot now trying to teach him some things. It’s been so much fun the past 2 days of going to zoos. I don’t want to go back to class Monday! hahaha… :0) ♥ Thanks so much hon!

nice frame, I like the way he looks up :)

  • Thank you! Yes, I prefer shots where they’re looking up, they look more dignified and regal.

Great shot. We have a lot of them here in downtown Vancouver watching over us as we do our daily thing.
