Neglected Teddy
11/2/09 – 994 views
Possibly one of my best photos ever. This teddy bear has been keeping my goat, Oreo, company since his other goat friend Dot passed away. But this picture has sparked many people into wondering why the teddy bear is so sad, why he is sitting on a bucket next to a fence. Create your own story! This could be a good “I Miss You” card or “Sympathy” card.
Taken at my home in PA.

Thank you everyone. I know it is a very sad picture. What you can’t tell due to the black and white/sepia tones is that this bear is coated in a few places with some wonderful green mold. He’s pretty much past saving. My dad’s employees found him somewhere and as a joke tied him to the front of my dad’s truck, across the bumper when my dad wasn’t looking. He drove home like that, and when he got home realized what his guys had done. So, since he really couldn’t clean the poor bear up too well, decided he would make a great companion to our goat who just lost his other goat friend that he shared his pen with. So, in a way the bear has the best home he could have I guess. lol.

Thank you Leanna! Glad you like it!
chemis
excellent shot!
i love the way you have rendered it
Victoria DeMore replied
Why thank you Chemis. :-) It was rather dull straight from the camera, and I felt something like black and white or sepia would be better suited to it anyway, so just changed it and bumped up the contrast a bit. And thank you for the favoriting! You have some great work yourself! Will take a closer look at your work soon, just logged on briefly before going to bed. Thanks again!

It is a sad, but precious shot. xo Teddy could be sad and grieving with Oreo over Dot’s death.
I think that’s a sweet and wonderful use for this special teddy. How did you manage to think of keeping Oreo company with a stuffed bear?
