Over the last few months I’ve been playing with a few photo related iphone apps, BestCamera , Photoshop Mobile and CameraBag
First up BestCamera
Developed by Chase Jarvise the app promotes the idea that the best camera is the one you have with you. In this case you camera phone. It allows you to apply a number of filters (stackable) then upload the results to a few websites (thebestcamera.com, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter).

The various filters can be used to create quite pleasing images, but unfortunately there is no way to adjust the amount that is applied to the image, so stacking multiple filters can sometimes require using one of the darken or flatten filters in between some of the more interesting ones.
The app also tends to drain quite a bit of battery power.
The Photoshop Mobile (PSMobile) app is similar in many ways to BestCamera, The interface is slightly more polished, and some of the filters can be adjusted.

CameraBag is similar to the other apps in that it applies filters, however only one can be applied with out saving the image, loading the new image and applying the new filter.

Of the 3 apps I use BestCamera the most, PSMobile has a better interface and is free but I prefer the filters in BestCamera. CamerBag is an interesting app, but compared to the others much more limited in it’s abilities.
I’ve uploaded a few test shots to my Flickr page , I also tried to use the iphone camera for a few weeks and the shots can be found here most of them have been processed using BestCamera (if shot on the iphone).
