I’m global nomad, working on ways to weave together true tales and pictures of my life as an American expatriate (22 years and counting). During the year I lived in Shanghai, I went through a sea change of sorts, resulting in a major shift in my writing and a great new love, photography.
Currently I’m enjoying the pleasures of Italy, including living in an old Italian farm house 30 miles north of Rome. I juggle my passions for writing, photography, and exploration. As a writer, I’m presently focusing on travel essays for online publications and a memoir about the two times I lived in China, the first in a series dealing with a chapter of my expat life in relation to my past and passages as a woman and a writer.
My writing and lifestyle greatly influence my photography. I’m most attracted to images that create a sense of place, tell or suggest a story, or speak of connecting and relating.
When not overseas with my husband, I’m usually at our home in Garland, Texas, near our daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters.
