OOPS...I've upset Mum

Bird table antics of young Greenfinch and parent bird. This was a strange one – the young bird lay on the top of the bird table with one wing outstretched as if injured. Behaviour that I’ve seen in Lapwings and other birds as some form of distraction. After a couple of minutes the parent arrived and gave the youngster a severe ‘talking to’! Don’t know what it was all about but it was fun to watch (and photograph)

Wow what a cracking capture … you get so close with your bird shots or have you got a nice long lens?

Thanks Jen. I use either a 70-200mm zoom or a 300mm prime to get these shots

I love your choice to create a real contrast of dark and light in this “battle” of birds. Finally a bird feeder shot that I love :D

Thanks Normcar. I use the bird feeder to try to capture the behaviour and flight rather than catalogue the birds themselves
