I took up photography in November 2007 after a 30 year lay off when I purchased a canon 40D for my 50th birthday present. Having never used a digital camera or computer before I found it all very difficult. I joined Fordingbridge camera club and found the members, and the basic/practical photography evenings very helpful and still do. I have always been interested in wildlife and find it very challenging to get a good shot. I Live in Fordingbridge Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest, Southern England which is a very good area for wildlife. Within a 1hour drive I have a great diversity of habitats such as: Heathland, Woodland and forests, river valley’s, downland, coastal esturies, beaches and cliffs. The wildlife that inhabit these area’s would keep a photographer occupied for a lifetime. Over the last 5 years or so I have specialised in photographing birds and mammal,s but I hope to start photographing reptiles, insects and flowers in the near future.
