Maroon Lightning Clownfish by

The frame shop in my town had an event of sorts. They let any artist take any from their overstock of odd sized and unneeded frames, on the condition that we create something to fill the frame and exhibit that work in a group show. I jumped on the opportunity – I mean, free frame! Given that I didn’t have a lot of time to work on it, though, I chose a small one. The frame is maroon and black, so I thought this fish would be a perfect color match.

This drawing is colored pencil, 5.8″×5″, on Strathmore bristol vellum paper, 2011. Sold.

Beautiful work, both the fish and the creature or plant behind it!
