This is moving, as it is, wthout the title to lend a bit of mystery. Something baout the bowed head, the nakedness. This is a lovely, meaningful portrait, and it DOES ask questions…....as above – what forgiven for? The tones and chiaroscuro are amazing, as well. This is beautiful.

please forgive me, but yes i see the hairy chest…now is that a dog’s snout and tongue ? My mind won’t let me see past that of a Labrador..and with photoshop these days anything is possible.

ok the very top of the picture ( i suppose the hair on forehead) looks like a dogs two nostrils, and the brow looks like the floppy upper doggy lip..and the top of his nose looks like a top of a dogs tongue hanging out….hahah it still takes me a minute to look at as a mans head….hahaha
