This macro photograph creates a multi-dimensional abstract.
The colors, textures and imagery within the materials
are varied which leaves us
wondering what is behind each panel. I am always interested in what you perceive? This was the my first bark art photograph
to make it to homepage.
I saturated the colors to create a
more dynamic piece.

I have always been fascinated by trees
and my bark abstracts are a natural
evolution integrating nature and
my years of experience interpreting
imagery. I see a myriad of images
in nature that is referred to as “iconic
vision.” The dimension that abstract
imagery provides the viewer is like
the “Rorschach” allowing the individual
to project what he or she perceives.

I shot this bark abstract last Spring
The bark of trees reflect the seasons
as expressed in various cycles. This
photograph reflects the season of spring
whose essence is to burst forth.
In spring all nature comes to life and
it is a time for new vision, new
beginnings and hope.

The bark of trees reflect the seasons

photograph taken in Spring
when all nature comes to life and
it is a time for new vision, new
beginnings and hope. In the
same way that plants and flowers
emerge from seeds in Spring,
on a psychological level, feelings
and actions become
conscious after lying dormant and
unseen during winter, the dark night
of the soul.

Don’t know how you did this, but it’s amazing… like there’s a fire burning beneath. There are so many patterns, I could look at this for hours. Nice work!
