Aspects of Me

Aspects of Me

This abstract is a like a condensation of a dream, the many dimensions of me and the things I perceive, feel, hear and touch. It combines the whimsical child with vibrant color and energy with the mature artist represented in the background as a woman in a peach dress playing the piano as I often do. There is a deep maroon velvet curtain that surrounds the opening to my studio as many forms of the music I play come to life in front of the curtain. There are so many faces with different expressions, like the notes, some dissonant and others harmonious. The central character that can be seen as one unit or two heads is a good example of the emotional range of the music. A man with an angry face is attached to the curtain looking very serious, a counterpoint to the carefree and magical characters that emerge as the woman plays on. Viewing this in the larger format will allow you to see a myriaid of imagery.

Lovely image. I have the urge to turn it 90 degrees to the left or right (I twisted my head instead), then I see an ancient stone fish among underwater rubble and dark undercurrents. Turning the image upside down gives yet another interpretation. This time the light is reflected from above and there seems to be a striving to get out! In short: It’s all in the mind!

Julie, Absolutely amazing..I see so much in this…but of course we all perceive it differently..
I will just give you the main things that I see … I see eyes with a monocle representing someone
who reads extensively..red for a fiery heart and blue for a good soul…there is also a certain yearning for something that has not yet been attained….I’m not going any further
because I could read so much more into this…Hugs, Sally xxoo

Thanks so much for your wonderful comments Faith and Sally. I agree this painterly photograph has so much imagery, I finally had to put a bag over my head or I would be here all night. Reminds me of one of my favorite artist’s playful spirit, Kandinsky and I just bought a book of his work at my favorite book store for artists, Tashen. I wrote about Taschen in my photograph, Glass Waterfall that I took in this architectural playground of amazing books. Faith, please don’t twist your head off. Your mind is too important.

    Aspects of oneself..
    I wonder..
    What is the final “texture”?
What of what others can feel… touch… see….?
I would say that you are many layered..
A background of intense solar energy… shading to orange.. vitality… breaking the eonclosures of feelings blue…and spirituality drying up with force.. as if wishing to be exploded to the exterior.. . I “see” a foot print…. meaning the grounding of part of yourself… just the half of yourself… I do not know wether the other half is going… but… may be.. you are really rounded in your intuition. Afeelings.. and searching for meaning.
And I can feel that there are many sources of “life” rivers of intense profoundity where you “dialogue” with your essence.. and let the vitality “mature”....as if it were the earth veins.
Well… If I were to “touch” you… I would end with my hand trying to “peel” your essence out.. because you… yourself.. show much of the outside “skin”...but keep the real nurturing rivers of life.. inside… Good thing.. one needs to protect…
Rosa (the texture here is amazing.. and Iove it in many ways..)
