INTRODUCTION TO NEW SERIES: Forms and Objects - 4 by

Its been a busy year of creativity for me. And, and although I took a large portion of time away working on some essential business ventures (evidenced by my lack of daily activity here on RD), including one of the most ambitious, MUSEUM OF DIGITAL FINE ART (MODFA), I still wanted to make sure that my art and photography productions didn’t get sideline for too long.

Happily it hasn’t.

Well, at some point back in 2009, while I was hiking and filming landscape images across Durham county, Ontario, for some strange reason (may have been the out of place bottles and cans among the green forest), I got the idea of working on a series of image with my camera which depicted small everyday stuff that folks seem to pass by without much thought or notice. These may be old or new, country or urban, but nothing stage, pretty much anything laying about the place. The series would be called “Forms and Objects”.

I haven’t concentrated much on this series, and even at times only after months will I actually snapped additional images for the collection. By mid 2011, the series had evolved and now includes another “Left Behind”. There are also select paintings to complement the photo series.

Its projects I love working on, and have no clue as to when the series will wrap up, but may evolve again and join another series in the future.

Well, here are a few images from the series…enjoy!

(note: parts of the series is available for sales as prints and cards. Please send me an email if you wish to receive a PDF copy showing more details of each image. If you wish to purchase an image you can do so here on Redbubble or email for extra locations.)

  • oh, thanks for saying so George, what a comparison…its always fun and enlightening to work on art and photo projects, and to discover something new each time is the best feeling.

Excellent work Solomon… I have started a series on building decay … Now that the economy is in “tatters” and nobody has the money look after old buildings around town, they decay even more … and off course they are a very interesting subject matter in their derelict condition… I don’t know how long is going to take to put together but is definitely something I am enjoying working on…
Take care Solomon and have a lovely festive season… ;-)

  • thanks very much Gregoria, and very happy holidays wishes to you too, best wishes for the new year!

sound like a great idea Gregoria about the new series you are embarking on. There certainly is no shortage of subject-matter for your your work, there is so much waste and neglect these days on almost everything.
