Goddesses of the Classic Screen, no.7 (Throw Pillow) by Solomon Walker

Goddesses of the Classic Screen, no.7 (Throw Pillow) by

…from the series “Goddesses of the Classic Screen”….a dedication to the radiant Lena Horne….

A lady of many talents, whose career in the entertainment industry spanned many decades. Lena Horne was stunningly gorgeous with a voice that soothed and captivated her audiences globally.

There was a
Nubian princess
Who took youth
From the gods

And blessed with
A bird’s voice
Sung with grace
Without instruments

And shattered air
To earn her wings
With the angels

I don’t think a more neautiful woman ever lived. Even in her sixties, she was still beautifull. A great talent. Love this one, too, Solomon. x

  • agree, Lori, she was stunning! And the fact that she was a rounded talent made her last so much longer in the entertainment field…
