Ecstatic Trance
Neopastel Drawing
31”x17”
110gsm cartridge paper

This was part of a series of drawings produced for a solo exhibition.
All the images are inspired by the Club and Drug scene which surrounded me at the time as I ran a music venue.
The colour images are a representation of the ‘highs’ with black and white images representing the inevitable ‘comedowns’
My deviation ‘Oof’ is also part of the series.

For some strange reason, I seem to like these drugged out/totally entranced shots! ;-)
Possibly, I identify with it; because, at some point in time, I already been there/done that myself; or, at least, felt that way. I don’t tend to take drugs, actually; and, I only drink very rarely, indeed; but, they do say that those who are not too used to taking drink, regularly; then, they are likely to be affected by it all the more; I also heard it said that drink itself is a drug, too! ;-)

What is it about your art that makes me feel ever so close; that I can’t stop myself from wishing to confess…?!

... its strange but I think it is just that you pick up on the symbolism and meaning behind my work in a way that many do not. This is possibly due to similar environments at one time or another?
It is not a bad thing I am sure! :)
