Unlike some who get to shoot from the 33rd floor, I decided(well, ran out of time really) that standing on Chevron Island Bridge would be a pretty cool spot to watch. Had plenty of conversations with passing motorists waiting for the lights. To my right I watched some very low cloud spin in a anti-clockwise direction before it bucketed down. Few small bolts but plenty of cool cloud to break my drought.

Excellent shot, Derek. You’re braver than me. I’m scared of storms, so the balcony is as far as I will go. That cloud was pretty amazing though.:)

  • I did have to hide under the Bridge at one stage from the rain, there was this pretty large circular motion in the cloud just above the Corporate Center and then the wind and rain unleashed.

    wicked looking clouds mate,great capture!!

  • This bridge and I seem to get the cloud formations like this. I’ll leave a little early one day and stand on the beach and watch it roll in from the Hinterland.

Magic clouds Drec, you have captured them perfectly.

  • Thanks, a wider angled lens would have been cool as this band was quite long.

  • Thanks, getting close to the time of year you get those nice big clean swells rolling in. Have a feeling we’ll see a few T.C’s forming up north in the coming months.
