Been sometime since I last visited the Southport Seaway so today I rode my bicycle along the beach from Surfers looking at the damage from the previous wild weather and timing it for sunset at The Spit. The Sand Pumping Jetty, The Spit.
Thank you. It uses sea water to lift the sand and forces it through a pipe across the seaway onto South Stradbroke Island. This helps keep The Southport Seaway safe for boating and has also created the world class surfing banks known as T.O.S or The Other Side. It’s not uncommon to see dozens of surfers paddling across the seaway and a water taxi service is also available for this stretch of empty beach.

Great shot Drec. Gorgeous reflections.
Fantastic photography Drec!!
nicely captured.
good timing drec, great capture.
I love it. Very eye-catching.. especially the reflection, which interestingly seems to have fire in it in different places than the sky does!
It may seem a silly question but.. how does the jetty pump sand?
