Taken from where the Currumbin Creek meets the Pacific Ocean at Currumbin Alley on a rather wild day. The waves would reclaim the sand with a powerful surge and if you don’t keep your eye on the waves, you’ll get wet.

I’m Derek, Gold Coast Photographer who now spends more time at FaceBook than here.
Sometimes I take pretty pictures.
Stunning shot drec. Love the drama in the sky.
The air traffic was pretty heavy this afternoon, would have been bumping coming in to land.

Awesome… love the sky and the reflection/colour of the sand… : )
I like the southern end of the coast for the sand colour variations and the direction they face. Normally this area is quite calm.
soothing image, full of power and grace.
Certainly some power was on show, this was about 3 days after 90km hour plus winds tore through the coast.
Love that dark sky and the patterns in the sand and water!
breath taking. The colors are fantastic.
Magic shot Drec! Love that you can see the sand ‘hills’ under the water too! :)
I like the sand down the southern end of the coast, seems to have more mineral/colours
stunning work, perfect light.
Wow awesome sky!!! love the slow water movement too!!!! Excellent capture Derek!!! Patricia :-))
missed this post. dynamic clouds, very cool landscape, of course by the sea for a cancer :)
I live by the sea, I like the sea, but I do need a better lens for chasing the surf.
