well the tailor are on the run and this jetty had over 280 people out on the first night of the season, lucky bag limits of 20 apply. Pumping Jetty, The Spit, Gold Coast
Ha, I lived near the coast and have fished salt water all my life. Right now I live in North Carolina, US near the New River Inlet on the coast. My point is, being in the US I don’t have a clue what a tailor is. I’m wondering if it’s a similar fish that we fish for and is just referred to by a different name. Let me know if you know. Beautiful photo by the way.
here’s a link to a pic of one. bit of background here i use four 4/0 gang hooks and a pilchard as bait and a wire trace.
Thanks! When I researched the tailor I found out it’s in the same scientific class as the Atlantic Bluefish (pomatomus saltatrix). They both have a seasonal run where they are plentiful and can be caught off the beaches and piers. They also look very much the same. The research did inform me though that the tailor is an Australian fish, so I just won’t have the pleasure unless I line up a overseas fishing trip. Thanks again for sending me the link.
