South
Standing on the southern side of Fingal Head with the lights of Kingscliff off in the distance. It was fairly dark when I took this long exposure, flattening the ocean and blurring the clouds. Lately I seem to get out with the camera on Fridays. Lucky as that’s what tomorrow is. I might head back down to Fingal

Love this drec, reminds me that I stood in the exact same spot watching the storms in January 2008!

Thanks, Be a good spot for the storms rolling in. I’ll check and see if shelter from Lightning is close at hand and I’ll have a look down Kingy way too.

Love the light here mate!
drec replied
Thank you. It was a bit of a surprise as to how the colours would turn out due to it being fairly dark.

Cheers, I often bypass this spot on the way down the coast. Will definitely make more of an effort to visit some of these spots more often

Great shot Derek, I really like this. The detail in the red rocks against the charcoal tones of the tops of the rocks is great. The colours of the water and sky compliment it well. I also really like the slant of the horizon in this, gives the feel of the edge of the world. Top stuff!

Was a bit hard trying to keep a straight horizon…The world is round. I’ll definitely be heading back this way

Yeah – I definetly want to go there again… Last time I made it there was for sunrise and I happened to drop my 6×17 (beyond use for the day) before the sun even came up ! (grr)
cheers,

Not a good start to the day. I’m lucky, the only damage I’ve suffered here is about 5 stitches to my ankle from a fin chop.

beautiful drec, missed this one on RB, it looks great on your website!

Thank you. Some of my darker shots do appear brighter elsewhere. Might get to a stage where I process image just for RB display.
