After the dawn,
Shadows will cry.
They want to know why,
Why they are there.
They were free of fault.
All they saw was the lights,
So fatally blinding.

After the dawn,
The shadows do linger.
Watching what they once were,
Watching those they love.
They see the grief,
Etched deep into those faces.

After the dawn,
The shadows will mourn.
