D-Project and other Dr.Dubyu related stuff.
I’ve had a few dreams lately. One of which is to create a dance/ street culture in the town of crap, Reading. I’ve dubbed this, the D-Project.
I went out and trested the waters one day. Me and Jerome (breakdance buddy) went to Toys Arse (my workplace) to collect loads of cardboard. We went to a place near town centre and ducktaped it together and dropped it heavy with a stereo, Greggs sausage rolls and lucozade.
We gained cheers, people complaining about how crap Reading was and £4 which we weren’t expecting.
I wanna extend that dream. I want to have crews come down, I want to have artists abusing the leftover cardboard, I want portable power so I can set up my decks and drop beats in the streets…
Reading NEEDS this sort of event. Now I know it’s possible when 2 dudes backflipping can whip up a storm in a craphole. It happens elsewhere, so why not Reading?
What about you guys? Ever dream of taking the streets by storm?

I am currently studying in Melbourne and nowadays Australia is advertising Melbourne as a tour of art.
In one of Melbourne’s busy streets, you might find performing artists showing their creations and moves. I definitely remember a group of youngsters break dancing at one of the plazas and they received huge applause when they were done with each set of move.
I am not a good dancer but I can assure you that your ideal is totally possible and is already socially acceptable in most countries [not Malaysia ><]. What I would like to suggest is that you make an agreement with one or two cafe/pub owners allowing [or better, pay] you guys to do a performance in front of their shops. In this way, you can spice up the town with exciting movements with a stable location which enables the public to have easy access to your performance.
ps. I asked both my roommate to prove read my comment for your sanity sake before I post it >< oh my, my english suck :S

I know man (: Australia and America rock for this sorta thing. You can make money or a mark doing nearly anything.
English society is crap. Seriously. People are far too busy wallowed in self-consciousness to want to let loose and do something different.
I’m not good enough to be paid yet, and besides, that’s not the point. I want to have fun. I want to give b.boys and street dancers an opportunity to not give a flying fuck and dance.
I need to visit Australia…
