I love photography and drawing, but there is a different feeling that comes from working with paints that I do love. I remember, as a child, the fond memories of working with watercolors and drawing at my Grandparent’s house. Today, I enjoyed a return to watercolors.
This is drawn and painted from a photograph depicting:
Jockey Chris McCarron raises his whip in triumph as Tiznow edges out Giant’s Causeway in the 2000 Breeder’s Cup Classic at Churchill Downs.
I choose this particular scene because I grew up near Churchill Downs.
