The Wall

Her love for me, I’m always wanting

Her simple requests, I find so daunting

How could I hope to repay her in kind

All I have is body, soul, and mind

It seems so simple to relinquish these three

So why, oh why can I not part with me

I’m so selfish, she is not

While she grows, I wither and rot

With unyielding ease she offers all

Why did I erect this stupid wall

One day soon she too will have all

This stupid wall must crumble, must fall
